WEEK 1

ANTON WILSON

Originally from Annapolis, MD, Anton T. Wilson received his BFA from the North Carolina School of the Arts and has enjoyed a 36-year international career as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer. He has performed with companies including Ballet Theatre of Maryland, Djazzex (Holland), Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, and Jennifer Muller/The Works.

Anton is a two-time recipient of the Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Award and was one of four choreographers selected for the Four Steps Forward project in The Hague. He has created works for the Annapolis and Baltimore Symphony Orchestras, Opera Vivente, and more. Teaching credits include the Kirov Academy of Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and his current faculty positions at the Baltimore School for the Arts and The VIVA School. He also remains active in equestrian competition.

WEEK 3

Sean Rollofson

Sean Rollofson, originally from Redmond, Washington, is a former company artist with Pacific Northwest Ballet and BalletMet, and was a principal dancer with City Ballet of San Diego. He trained at Pacific Northwest Ballet School and attended summer programs at the National Ballet School (Toronto) and the School of American Ballet.

At Pacific Northwest Ballet, Sean performed featured and principal roles in works by Balanchine, Maillot, and Stowell. At BalletMet, he originated leading roles in Edwaard Liang’s Giselle and Seasons, and danced in works by Robbins, Wheeldon, Peck, and Balanchine. As a principal with City Ballet of San Diego, he performed leading roles in La Sourceand Hallelujah Junction. His career also includes appearances in Flesh and Bone (Starz), Phantom of the Opera(Broadway), West Side Story, and the BBC’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He has also performed at The Kennedy Center and in gala appearances with Kathryn Morgan.

WEEK 2

GERARD CHARLES

Originally from Folkestone, England, Gerard Charles trained at the Royal Ballet School and has enjoyed an international career as a dancer, choreographer, and artistic leader. He has served as Ballet Master for BalletMet Columbus, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, and the Joffrey Ballet.

Gerard was Artistic Director of BalletMet for 11 years and later held the same position at the Royal Academy of Dance in London. A recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Choreographic Fellowship, he continues to teach, choreograph, and stage ballets worldwide.

LYNN GLAUBER MANDEL

Lynn Glauber began her training in Buffalo, NY, and later studied on full scholarship at the Joffrey School in NYC. At age 17, she joined Maurice Béjart’s Ballet of the Twentieth Century, where she quickly rose to Principal Dancer and performed leading roles worldwide. Béjart created numerous roles on her, including Seraphita, Dionysos, and The Competition.

She returned to New York to dance as a Principal with the Joffrey Ballet, performing works by Tudor, Arpino, Cranko, DeMille, Tetley, and Ashton. Her stage career included ballet galas, musical theater, and international film and television appearances.

Lynn has taught at institutions including Ballet Hispanico, Ballet Academy East, and Jacob’s Pillow, and has led masterclasses around the world. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Ballet Division at The Ailey School and is on faculty at Marymount Manhattan College.

WEEK 2

CATHERINE YOSHIMURA

A Chicago native, Catherine Yoshimura began her professional dance career with Chicago Ballet and went on to perform with Ballet International (London), Milwaukee Ballet, BalletMet, and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. Her 20-year stage career included classical roles in Swan Lake and principal roles in neoclassical works such as Balanchine’s Theme and Variations and Alvin Ailey’s The River.

After retiring from the stage, Catherine studied extensively under Yoko Ichino and continues her training in movement science through the Anatomy Trains program with Thomas Myers. She is married to ballet master Gerard Charles, and they are proud parents to their son, Max.

STEPHEN MITCHELL

We are thrilled to welcome pianist Steven Mitchell for all four weeks of our Summer Intensive!

A Perry County native, Steven has worked extensively as a dance accompanist in New York City since 1998. He holds a Bachelor of Music from Houghton College and dual Master of Music degrees in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

Steven served as the ballet rehearsal pianist for the Metropolitan Opera from 2012 to 2020, and earlier, was Music Director and Pianist for Rosie’s Broadway Kids, a performing arts program founded by Rosie O’Donnell for New York City public school students.

His music for ballet class has been featured in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, The Blacklist, and Flesh and Bone, and he appeared on-screen in the dance film Center Stage. Now based in Harrisburg, Steven also works as a service provider for adults with autism, continuing his passion for meaningful community engagement.
