Victoria Silva

Victoria Silva joined Pennsylvania Regional Ballet (PRB) in 2002 as a ballet instructor for the Children’s and Pre-Professional Divisions and was promoted to School Director in 2012. Collaborating with a talented faculty, board members and staff, she has played an integral role in shaping the school’s development. After dedicating more than two decades to the education of PRB students, Ms. Silva is honored to now serve as Co-Artistic Director of PRB.

Ms. Silva is passionate about her choreographic endeavors. She is deeply grateful to PRB’s Artistic Advisor and Founding Director, Sandra Carlino, for providing opportunities to explore movement vocabulary and develop her craft. She has created many original works for pre-professional ballet schools across the United States. Her choreographic credits include Peter and the Wolf for the Harrisburg Symphony’s Crayon Concert Series, as well as several ballets performed at Regional Dance America (RDA) Festivals, including Finding Harmony (National Festival, Montreal 2012) and Odyssey (National Festival, Phoenix 2017).

Ms. Silva was awarded the Monticello Award in 2005 (a choreographic award given to emerging women choreographers) for her work Linear Momentum. She also was awarded scholarships to attend the RDA National Choreography Intensive in 2004, 2005, and 2011. In 2014, her ballet Fragmented Memories was selected to represent RDA/NE at the International Ballet Competition.

In addition to teaching at PRB, Ms. Silva has been a faculty member at Astoria Dance Center (Queens, NY), Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet Summer Course, Greater York Youth Ballet, and Harrisburg Dance Conservatory. She has also taught at Steps on Broadway and served as a guest instructor for various pre-professional summer intensive programs.

Ms. Silva received her dance education at prestigious schools, including: Cumberland Dance Company (now PRB), Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Boston Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center, where she was a scholarship student. She has professionally performed as a freelance artist in the New York City area and with the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre.
